May Point 2007/2008

 

The following yard waste may be mixed together in paper bags:

 

Leaves,

Grass clippings,

Twigs, less than 1/2 inches in diameter,

Plant debris: stems, flowers, leaves, roots with attached dirt,

Pine needles,

Incidental* acorns, sweet gum seedpods and pinecones.

 

*You need not sort out acorns, pine cones and the like; a few per bag are acceptable.

 

Meadow Grass and Phragmites are not accepted for composting.

Dispose of these plants in regular trash.

 

Above acceptable yard waste may be delivered loose or in paper bags to the CMCMUA Class C Compost Facility at the Landfill Complex in Woodbine. Yard Waste is not accepted at the CMCMUA Transfer Station in Burleigh.

 

Plastic bags, including biodegradable plastic bags, are not accepted. If yard waste, as listed above, is delivered to the CMCMUA compost facility in plastic bags, plastic bags must be emptied at the compost area and bags placed in the designated receptacle at the compost area.
